There are many stories and legends connected with the origin of a famous Tiramisu dessert. According to some, Tiramisu was born Treviso in the 18th century. It is said, Tiramisu was first created by a clever mistress which wanted to offer her customers a dessert with an aphrodisiac and stimulating effect.
There is much speculation as to whether the legend is true, but one thing is certain – Tiramisu was indeed very popular in Treviso, and over the time the recipe spread not only throughout Italy but also to other countries around the world.
Tiramisu is very popular in our roastery. And not only because it contains coffee. We love its delicious creamy taste, we like its luxurious look and we appreciate that it is very easy to make.
Let´s join us and prepare our favorite eggless variant of Tiramisu.
To prepare the eggless Tiramisu you will need: coffee, a packet of Savoiardi Ladyfingers, 250 g of mascarpone cheese, 250 ml whipped cream, cocoa, cinnamon and cardamom.
Since we didn’t use raw eggs in the recipe, you don’t have to be afraid to offer this dessert to children. Just replace the classic caffeinated coffee with decaffeinated coffee, for example our Mammie or Zero coffee. For example, you can add fresh raspberries or strawberries between the layers and replace the sugar with honey or maple syrup.
